We have reached a spike of 70,000 downloads per month. YOU made it possible. The number of persons using the software is not only important for us, but for you too, because one more user is one more tester, hence, one more bug or feature request submitter, each one helping to make ocsinventory-ng better.
However, there are still some lacks that users complain about. One of those is that we don't provide commercial support. It is a major issue for companies using ocsinventory-ng, especially if the community help is not enough. It is a next major step for ocsinventory, because we now offer this support, and other professional services through our business side: ocsinventory-ng.com. So what is it about ? Do you have to worry about our open source characteristics, about a future corporate version or anything that will lead the project to something less open ? Definitively not. The primary goal of .com is to allow the project to be represented by a company when needed.
